🛸 In the early morning hours of September 19, 1976, residents of northern Tehran reported a brilliant object hovering above the city. What began with civilian phone calls escalated into one of the most compelling military UFO encounters ever documented.

Two Imperial Iranian Air Force F-4 Phantom II fighter jets were scrambled to investigate. The crews reportedly experienced instrumentation failures, lost communications, radar contact, and a chilling confrontation with a smaller luminous object that appeared to detach from the larger light and move toward one of the armed aircraft.

When the pilot prepared to fire an AIM-9 missile, the weapons-control system reportedly failed.

The mystery continued after sunrise, when a helicopter search near a dry lake bed detected an unexplained beeper signal close to a small house whose occupants recalled a loud noise and a brilliant flash during the night.

Was it a Cold War misidentification, a chain of mechanical failures, or something genuinely unknown responding to the approaching jets? 👽
